By BBN Staff: The villagers of the San Jose community located in the Toledo District are pleading to the Government of Belize to assist in repairs of the road in the area.
According to Dennis Cal, a resident, the road from San Jose to Punta Gorda Town has deteriorated to the point that buses and other vehicles find it difficult to access.
He told BBN that yesterday children from his village could not attend classes because their school bus was stuck on the badly deteriorated road.
With or without rains access to and from his village via road remains problematic and it is a problem that the villagers have been facing for two years, Cal told us.
He alleges that he has written the government three letters seeking rehabilitation of this road but he has not gotten any responses.
According to Cal, he hopes that his District will get Cabinet’s attention soon.
