By BBN Staff: Last night around 7:30 while Sgt. Everon Teck Sr. was walking on 1st Street North heading towards the Police Station he saw two men chasing a man from the direction of 7th Avenue to the direction of 5th Avenue.
The man that was being pursued ran in-front of a bus causing the bus to run over him. He received head and body injuries.
The bus was driven by Alberto Lewis Cowo, 30, a Belizean bus driver of Concepcion Village.
The man was identified as Javier Luis Chan, 22 years of Chula Vista Area. He was transported to the Corozal Town Community Hospital where he died whilst undergoing treatment.
The body is at the morgue awaiting a postmortem examination.
