By BBN Staff: Ten persons on the north side of Belize City are grateful after having escaped a fire unhurt.
According to Orin Smith, National Fire Services station manager, firefighters were called to a house burning on Castle Street at around 4:25 a.m.
The fire started at 21 Castle Street where a family of five were reportedly locked inside their home by an alleged arsonist.
Fortunately, they were able to escape through a window.
The fire quickly spread to adjacent buildings and slightly burnt two structures.
There was no one present in one of the buildings while a family of five slept in another.
