By BBN Staff: Yesterday morning about 6:30 a.m., police visited an area in Trinidad Village in the Orange Walk district where officers observed the body of a man.
The victim was identified as Luciano Jose Chi, 71.
He was lying on the ground with head injuries and was bleeding from the ears, nose and mouth, with a cut wound to the back of the head.
Initial investigations revealed that Chi was apparently knocked down by a motorcycle that fled the scene.
The body was transported to the Northern Regional Hospital morgue where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Police investigation continues.
