By BBN Staff: Yesterday, NEMO Minister Edmond Castro was in Southside Belize City where he and officials from NEMO delivered more houses to victims of Hurricane Earl.
Castro and his team also did an overall, on-the-ground assessment of the rebuilding efforts in the city and followed up on individual cases of families affected by the hurricane.
Castro was accompanied by Chairman of CEMO, NEMO Operations Coordinator Major Lionel Cuthkelvin, and NEMO Belize District Regional Coordinator Al Westby.
More houses will be handed over throughout the districts most severely affected by Hurricane Earl, namely Belize District, Cayo, Stann Creek and Orange Walk, until the rebuilding program is completed in late November or early December.
The total number of houses being constructed for Hurricane victims is over 200, while over 100 roofs have been replaced, and over 1,500 persons have received assistance with materials to repair their homes.
