By BBN Staff: This weekend, NEMO Minister Edmond Castro, delivered a number of houses to victims of Hurricane Earl in the Belize River Valley area located in his constituency of Belize Rural North.

Yesterday, Castro handed over houses to residents in Burrell Boom, Butter Cup, Bermudian Landing and Rancho Dolores, whose homes were severely damaged in the hurricane just over three months ago. He also visited a number of residents to check on their progress in helping themselves with assistance from the Government in the form of materials to repair their homes.

Castro was accompanied by the NEMO Regional Coordinator for Cayo and Belize Districts, Al Westby.

More houses will be handed over throughout the four districts most affected by Hurricane Earl, namely  Belize District, Cayo, Stann Creek and Orange Walk, until the rebuilding program is completed in early December.

The total number of houses being constructed for Hurricane victims is close to 300, while over 100 roofs have been replaced, and almost 2,000 persons have received assistance with materials to repair their homes
