By BBN Staff: International speakers and experts in the field of Information and Communications Technology (ICT), along with members of the entrepreneurial ecosystem, will meet at the Belize Biltmore Plaza Hotel in Belize City tomorrow to participate in the second annual National Entrepreneurship Convention (ENTRECON).
Last year, the Small Business Development Centre, Belize (SBDCBelize), a unit of the Belize Trade and Investment Development Service (BELTRAIDE), launched its National Entrepreneurship Strategy at its First National Entrepreneurship Convention, branded as ENTRECON.
The now annual event is designed to create a platform for bringing together key players in the entrepreneurial ecosystem with the purpose of sharing ideas, creating awareness of existing and new business and investment opportunities, promoting innovation, and building an entrepreneurship culture.
Participants will include representatives from a wide-range of business support agencies, financial institutions, academic institutions, local and national government agencies, business owners, entrepreneurs, and the media.
The event will include remarks and discussions by key government officials and presentations by international speakers and experts in the ICT field. To support the event’s theme of “Unlocking ICT Innovation in Belize”, the below topics will be the highlights of the day’s agenda:
•Government of Belize E-Governance Agenda – A catalyst for ICT Innovation
•Belize and its Opportunities for ICT and Innovation
•Panel discussion: Impact of ICT Integration in Business Processes
•Panel Discussion: Unlocking ICT Innovation – Belize and its positioning in the ICT
ENTRECON will also include an ICT solution based final pitch, which is part of a Business Hackathon competition among junior colleagues and universities that began earlier this month.
This is part of activities in connection with Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) which is being celebrated from November 11th – 18th, 2016. The week will conclude on November 18th with this magnificent event.
