By BBN Staff: Belize Telemedia Ltd (BTL) offered clarity on a report that Chairman of the Executive Committee, Anwar Barrow, who functions as CEO at BTL, had resigned.
“He remains in this role today and will continue to remain as such per his commitment to the company going into the new year, 2017,” the company explained.
BTL has started the succession process by looking for suitable candidates to replace Barrow as CEO. The company hopes to complete this exercise by early 2017, it said.
BTL also says that after finding a suitable candidate for the post, there will be an orderly transition period between Barrow and the CEO designate.
Once this transition period is complete, Barrow will continue to contribute to the success of BTL by remaining on the Board of Directors.
