By BBN Staff: Three Belize City robbers traveled to Corozal town on Thursday morning to rob the Rapidito Pawn Shop and Loans located on 4th street.
There are reports that one of three robbers entered the establishment with a .9mm pistol and aimed at the business owner, from whom he demanded cash.
However, instead of handing over cash to the robber, he was handed gunshots by a security guard on duty.
He was reportedly shot to his hip and returned ten shots to the security guard but none found their mark.
The injured robber and his co-conspirators were all captured in Orange Walk by police after a check point intercepted them.
The wounded perpetrator was seen bleeding and was taken to the hospital and is currently receiving treatment at KHMH.
According to sources close to his family, he may be paralyzed. However, no formal medical report has been made public.
The men intercepted with him in the getaway vehicle have been since detained by Corozal police and are to appear in court tomorrow to face a string of charges.
The alleged robber is also to face plenty charges when he is released from hospital.
At this time we are unable to publish the names of the accused but were informed by sources in the police department that the men are connected to a notorious Belize City gang.
