By BBN Staff: Two men have been charged with the gruesome killing of Nelson Zelaya in front of his daughter.
The incident occurred sometime on Thursday morning when the victim went behind his yard in Gardenia to fetch some firewood.
The two accused reportedly sprung up from behind some bushes armed with a .9mm and a 12 gauge shotgun.
The victim was shot several times to the head and upper body.
Today Ladyville police have formally charged Lenford Samuel Harris Jr. and Camron douglas Harris for the crime of murder.
The men charged are both known to Belize rural police and are reportedly connected to several Belize City gangs.
Last year Lenford Samuel Harris Jr. was charged and remanded after several men fired shots at Sandhill resident, Bryan Davis.
Davis reported he was inside his bedroom sleeping on the midnight of September 14, 2015 when he heard a strange noise outside.
He reportedly went outside to check what was happening when he saw a man armed with a shotgun and another with a pistol.
He reportedly dashed back into his home unharmed and called the police.
