Cayo Special Constable launch Motorcycle Patrol

By BBN Staff: Today, the Cayo Special Constables Committee launched a motorcycle patrol in San Ignacio and Santa Elena. The group purchased two new motorcycles to better assist the police with patrolling the communities.

The officer commanding San Ignacio Supt. Richard Rosado, national coordinator for the Citizens on Patrol and the Voluntary Special Constable Program, Rudolph Orio, Mayor of San Ignacio and Santa Elena Earl Trapp, Officer in Charge of Community Policing, Cpl. Jason Jones and Chairman of the Cayo Neighborhood Watch Association, Ernie Braun attended today’s event.

Rosado explained that with the assistance from the Special Constables and the community, the police have seen a decrease in violent crimes and he pledged to continue to work hand in hand with the Cayo Special Constables and the community in the prevention of crime.

Chairman of the committee, Alberto Palma in his remarks thanked the Mayor of the twin towns, the Officer commanding San Ignacio and the business community for all their support.

Mayor Trapp announced that the town council will sponsor one year license and insurance for each of the motorcycles for the Special constables.

The police and the Special constables continue on their anti crime campaign.
