By BBN Staff: Corozal police are still seeking the common- law-wife of Armando Pelayo Jr. She was the only person with him inside their G Street home in Corozal Town when he was chopped up and shot.
When police arrived on the scene sometime around 3 a.m. on Thursday, officers saw the victim lying in his neighbor’s yard, bleeding profusely.
Police also saw his common law wife enter a white vehicle with a man and and elderly woman. The vehicle, police say, had a foreign license plate.
Police say that they had detained and released Pelayo one week before his death for badly beating the mother of his child. The two were reportedly in an abusive relationship.
Police are yet to reveal the possible motive for Pelayo’s murder. Police say Pelayo was well known to the department.
