By BBN Staff: A Child Predator is back on the streets of San Pedro Town after spending only 3 days in jail, according to the San Pedro Sun newspaper.
The 62 year-old man was charged with sexually assaulting a 3 years old infant girl. The accused has been identified as Ernesto Caliz Sr., and is a former supervisor at the San Pedro Town Council. According to the Sun, Caliz has since been dismissed from his workplace.
Last Tuesday the accused pedophile had been remanded to prison until January 6, 2017. However, last Friday he applied to Supreme court and was granted a $5,000 bail.
The court ordered that Caliz appear back in court on January 6, 2017.
While on bail the accused child predator is required to sign in every Friday at the San Pedro Police Station until the case is closed, and he cannot interfere with any of the prosecution witnesses or any members of her family.
