By BBN Staff: A petition is being circulated in Corozal town residents requesting an urgent meeting with the police to address the issue of crime and safety in the town.
Concerned Corozalenos decided to request action following a series of armed robberies and assaults that have occurred recently in the town.
The petition is also asking for the police to reactivate the community policing initiative in the town.
The petition states “ We are not safe in our homes, we are not safe in our businesses, we are not safe in our town.”
It further states “The Police Department must be held responsible for their total inability and unwillingness to protect us!”
It ends by asking all residents of the town to join in keeping Corozal safe.
