By BBN Staff: The Department issued a release reminding all bus operators of the legal and binding contractual arrangement with the Government of Belize (Department of Transport) through their Road Service Permits to provide all daily bus runs to the commuting public on the days and time (Bus Schedule) stipulated on their Road Service Permits during this festive season.
Bus operators are advised that failing to provide the necessary runs in accordance with their Road Service Permits is an offense liable, on summary conviction, to a fine of $ 500 or to imprisonment for six months, or to both such fine and term of imprisonment.
Consequences also include their permit being revoked or cancelled. The Department also wished all bus operators and the Belizean public a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
