By BBN Staff: Osmany Salas has been elected as the 13th Senator.
Salas is the national President of the Belize Tourism Industry Association (BTIA) and will now represent the NGO’s in the Senate.
“I am honored and humbled to be elected the 13th Senator for the NGO’s,” he told the media just now.
His name will now be forwarded to the Belize House for appointment to the Senate by Governor General, Sir Colville Young.
Salas obtained 16 out of 23 votes in the final round of voting.
