By BBN Staff:According to police reports, yesterday around 5:00 p.m., police visited an area near the seaside in the vicinity of mile 3 on the George Price Highway where officers saw the body of 62-year-old Salvadoran national, Salvador Rivera Marquez of Set Site, Belize City with multiple apparent chop wounds to the head and a cut wound to the left hand.
Initial investigations revealed that Rivera had left home yesterday morning about 7:30 a.m. to do his routine fishing but when his family noticed that he did not return they went to his usual fishing location where they found him apparently dead.
The body was transported to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival at 8:55 p.m.
The body now lies at the KHMH morgue where it awaits a post mortem examination.
Police are investigating.
