In response to this, the opposition People’s United Party (PUP) says that before Belize moves to amend the Referendum Act it must first amend the Maritime Act so that Belize can claim maximum rights to the sea.
Secondly, it says, Belize must conduct voter re-registration and thirdly the Sarstoon Protocol must be in place so that Belizeans can enjoy the free access to the Sarstoon.
Finally, the PUP says, Belize must lead a comprehensive education campaign.
The opposition insists that Belize must put together a consortium of bright minds to conduct relations in the ongoing Guatemalan claim and put together a plan of action.
