Friday, August 7th, 2015. Aaron Humes Reporting: The Christian organization Sports Reach is teaming up with Hoop Dreams Belize, recent winners of the Copa Cancun Tournament,
to provide needed experience for local basketball teams and help spread the word of God through sports.
Based in Kentucky in the United States, the organization is celebrating 30 years of service and has already been to Belize several times in other sports. This time it is men’s basketball. But how does Christian ministry become compatible with the competitive nature of sports? Sports Reach director Bobby Speer told us more.

The team plays its first game in Belize City at Birds’ Isle at 3:30 Saturday afternoon. They will be facing off with two Elite Basketball League teams, the Belmopan Red Taigaz and Cayo Western Ballaz next week along with a camp in Dangriga before winding up with a match against Hoop Dreams at Birds’ Isle next week.
