Tuesday, August 18th, 2015. Chrisbert Garcia Reporting: It has now been eighteen days since 10 years old Jason Pau, resident of the Cuxlin Ha community was last seen alive.
On July 31st, Pau was with a group of American volunteers on a field trip to Blue Creek Village, when he mysteriously disappeared. The group reported to the police that after reaching the Hokeb Ha Cave, Pau went swimming. After which he suddenly disappeared underwater and never resurfaced.
Police and the BDF personnel quickly joined the villagers who started searching as soon as Pau went missin; they searched throughout the night but to no avail. Divers from the Police Department were brought in throughout the week but still the 10 year old was not found.
His family in an attempt to bring some closure to their hearts after the wrenching loss of their young son, have held a memorial service, even though Jason Pau has not been found after 18 days of search. The search mission has been suspended, all personnel have been withdrawn from the area and villagers have lost all hope of finding Jason Pau.
“This lost has cast a shadow over the community and we are heartbroken” said one villager from Blue Creek who had formed part of the search team, as they now leave the scene of the tragedy that have left two communities in mourning.
