Wednesday, September 2nd, 2015. Chrisbert Garcia Reporting: The recently started “Let’s Make a Change” group is 
seeking public assistance to finance a new home for a needy family in San Antonio Village, Corozal, as the family’s current home is in a severe state of disrepair and poses safety risks to them.
The group was only developed a few days ago by a concerned resident of Corozal, Dr. Shanna Pott, who is hoping that Belizeans can open their hearts to help a family in need.
The Matura family, a family of eight, consists namely of 53-year-old Arcido Matura, 46-year-old Aurora Gilharry, 26-year-old Stanley Matura, 18-year-old Judith Matura, 15-year-old Arcido Matura Jr., 12-year old Agustin Matura, nine-year-old Nayeli Matura and two-year-old Naiela Matura. They are currently living in a tiny, dilapidated home that is in far-from-favorable condition.
Arcido, the patriarch of the family, is the only member of the household with a permanent job and only collects $120 per week to support his entire family. His 
eldest son, Stanley, is only able to find work occasionally bringing in a little extra income to help the family manage with the rising cost of living.
Having been acquainted with their situation, Pott decided to create the “Let’s Make a Change” group in the hopes of providing a new home for the family and in the process providing a better safer environment for the younger children so they are able to do well in school and work toward a better standard of living for themselves and their family.
The group has already had plans for the house drafted and the design is almost complete. T
he group is hoping to raise enough funds to construct a modest, concrete, three-bedroom structure with one bathroom and a small kitchen and living room area to accommodate the family.
The plans also feature plywood partitions inside the house with a zinc roof to provide affordable but efficient shelter to the Maturas but the life changing project that can only be made into reality through the kindness of the Belizean public, Pott said.
The family has been sleeping on two mattresses on the floor of their small, unsafe home for the longest and the “Let’s Make a Change Group” is calling on the public to make a difference in lives of fellow Belizeans who are less fortunate.
All the Maturas are on-board with the project and have been receiving constant visits from Dr. Pott, who says that 
the family is willing to help with the project in any way they can and are grateful for the efforts put forth thus far.

Donations of material and labor are also being accepted and any contribution afforded to the family whatsoever would surely be appreciated.
