Tuesday, September 8th, 2015. BMG: A launching ceremony at the Julian Cho Technical High School (JCTHS) on Monday saw the Ministry of Health, World Bank and Japanese Social Development Fund, officially opening several Tilapia ponds that were donated to the school through a joint effort by the three entities.
Also donated to the school were gardening equipment and various kitchen items, such as refrigerators, a stove and food supplies that are all expected to promote JCTHS’ health initiatives.
One of the esteemed guests at the event, CEO of the Ministry of Health, Dr. Peter Allen, said that the children will be able to help with school gardens and the fish ponds using the equipment that were given to them and will be ready to help support the school feeding program.
Dr. Adrian Vernon of the Japan Social Development Fund, said that over the course of this week, all schools in the Toledo District will receive equipment for their feeding programs, measuring in amounts based on their needs and the school’s population.
