Monday, September 14, 2015. BMG: An inauguration ceremony will be held at 1:00 p.m. this afternoon to officially open a new school building that was built for All Saints Anglican Primary School in Belize City, through a loan from the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB).
This new, 2 storey, concrete building, consists of six classrooms and bathrooms on each floor, with all necessary utilities for effective learning and will eradicate the problem of overcrowded class sessions in the Principal’s office, the school’s resource center or the church’s Parish Hall.
The school has recently been faced with the problem of overcrowding due to an increasing demand of enrollment. With this new building, All Saints will be able to house more students comfortably, providing quality education.
It also displays the government’s commitment to fulfilling the United Nations Millennium Development Goal number 2, which is to ensure that boys and girls of school age will be able to complete a full course of primary schooling up to Standard Six by 2015.
Additional features of the new building include aluminum storm guard windows, timber panel doors, security grilles, moveable partitions, electrical and plumbing fittings, and internal and external walls. The building will also benefit surrounding communities in the area of the school since the building is designed to be used as a hurricane shelter.
