Monday, September 28th, 2015. BMG: In a press release issued by Citizens Organized for Liberty through Action (COLA) this morning, President Geovanni Brackett 
condemned the comments made by Minister Godwin Hulse, who suggested that the media should be sensitive when covering certain incidents, such as the incident at the Western Regional Hospital where a rat bit a new-born in an incubator, blaming the media for the international attention that particular incident received.
While speaking to the media on Friday, Hulse said the media “over sensationalized” the incubator incident, adding that the press covered it “to the extent that it got all this international coverage and doesn’t speak well for our country”.
Brackett refutes the Minister’s statements, insisting that the press is free to be thorough in its coverage of every news item and that Hulse’ request for censorship should not be tolerated by any member of the free press.
Brackett went on to mention that he didn’t expect those types of comments from Minister Hulse, an academic who should “know better”, a people’s champion and an esteemed member of the National Assembly.
Brackett demanded that Hulse retract his comments after essentially making a joke out of the rat incident in which a new born, its family and nurses went through a really traumatic ordeal.
Brackett ended by demanding more for our country’s health services, regardless of what anyone here or abroad thinks.
