Thursday, October 22nd, 2015. Aaron Humes Reporting: The organizations representing Belize’s largest Christian and other religious denominations have initiated a relief plan to address the recent flooding in the north and east of the country.
Today the Belize Association of Evangelical Churches and Belize Council of Churches stated in a press release that, quote, “We are asking for those from the business community, members of our congregations and the wider community to partner with us and donate any extra clothing, footwear, school supplies, school uniforms, bedding, perishable food items and construction materials to assist those affected by the flood. We are asking that these items be in good condition.”
Items can be taken to your respective churches or dropped off at the Salvation Army Regional Headquarters at #41 Regent Street in Belize City, Tel: 227-3365.
The churches say they are grateful to the Almighty that no life has been lost, to date, but the recovery period for some will be as devastating. They ask God for His continuous protection of this our beloved country.
