Wednesday, October 28, 2015. Orange Walk Bureau Reporting: Teachers and principals from the north concluded a two-day workshop on school inclusion yesterday in Orange Walk Town.
The aim is to equip the school leaders with skills necessary in handling special-needs children and their inclusion into regular classrooms. Of the many primary schools in the northern region, Orange Walk’s Trial Farm Government School and St. Peters School are the only learning centers that cater to the largest special needs populations.
Educators expressed that the sessions targeted inclusion and acceptance of peers. Coordinators say this week’s introductory session is one of three to be held over this school year.
