Friday, October 30, 2015. BMG: A letter from the office of Prime Minister Dean Barrow, sent congratulations to
the new President of Guatemala, Jimmy Morales, on behalf of the government and people of Belize.
The letter further states that Belize wishes only to live in peace and harmony with its neighbors and that over the years, both countries have embarked on constructive engagement to build bridges of functional cooperation, even as the path to resolving historical differences at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) is pursued if the people so desire.
It ends by stating: “Please accept my best wishes for your good health and success in government, as well as the assurances of my highest consideration.”
