Monday, November 30, 2015. BMG: To add to the long list of traffic accidents that happened over the past week across the country, another one was reported on Friday November 27th, this time in the 
Stann Creek District, which unfortunately ended in tragedy as 55-year-old Nelly Lopez lost her life after falling out of a pickup pan.
Police visited the Southern Regional Hospital around 2:40 p.m. on the mentioned date and saw the lifeless body of Lopez, who had succumbed to serious head and body injuries after brake failure and a sudden swerve, caused her to fall out the back of a Mazda Pickup that was being driven by her 19-year-old son Edgar Lopez at the time.
Edgar reportedly swerved to avoid a collision between miles 16 and 17 after his brakes failed and his mother fell to her untimely death. Police investigations continue.
