Sarkis abou nehraBy Aaron Humes: Tonight, 3 men charged in connection with the home invasion of Consul to Lebanon Sarkis Abou-Nehra in Burrell Boom Village are out on Supreme Court bail with stringent conditions and of various amounts.

Tyrone Meighan, to whom the DPP first had heavy objections to receiving bail but who later withdrew those objections, was the first to be granted bail by Judge Herbert Lord who thought twice before granting him bail in the sum of $15,000 with one surety of the same or two sureties of $7,500 each but which must be property documents presented to the court for him to be bailed out.

If Meighan is arrested and charged by the police for any offense, he will have to pay $15,000 to the court immediately and so will his surety. He also must report to the police station and stay away from witnesses.

Also granted bail was Brandon Baptist, charged along with Meighan for abetment to aggravated burglary and aggravated burglary and conspiracy to commit rape. Baptist was granted bail in the sum of $12,000 with same conditions in which he must report once a week to the police station and stay away from any prosecution witnesses and not to be arrested for any other offenses while his case is before the court.

The third to be granted bail is Jeffery Buller. Buller was granted bail in the sum of $8,000 plus one surety with conditions same as the others.

He was charged only with abetment to commit aggravated burglary and was arraigned last week Friday, December 11, 2015 before Senior Magistrate Sharon Fraser who denied him bail since the Chief Magistrate, Anne Marie Smith had denied bail to Meighan et al 5 days earlier.

In the bail application, Meighan and Baptist was represented by attorney, Arthur Saldivar while Buller was represented by Dickie Bradley this morning. All are schedule appeared in court again in connection with this matter on January 14, 2016.

Meighan and Baptist were not brought down for their bail application so relatives had to go to prison for their release, only Buller came down today in the prison bus.
