By BBN Staff: Police with the assistance of its K-9 Unit conducted an operation between the hours of 4:30 and 11:30 this morning which netted a total of 2.5 pounds (1112.5 grams) of cannabis and a firearm in several areas of the old capital.
An abandoned lot was searched at around 6:30 a.m. on Croton Lane where inside a speaker, wrapped in transparent plastic, officers found 757 grams of cannabis. Almost an hour later at around 7:28 a.m. in the PIV area, searches in another abandoned lot resulted in the discovery of 152.5 grams of cannabis and a .357 magnum revolver.
Then at around 10:00 a.m., the last find was made on Mayflower Street when 203 grams of cannabis was seen inside a coffee mate container. All finds were labeled and deposited as “found property” since no one was in any of the immediate areas at the time of the searches.
