By Aaron Humes: Thousands of women – and not a few men – rallied at the Marion Jones Stadium this morning for greater progress toward gender equality.
From across the country they came – marching from the Memorial Park to the stadium.
In her opening, Special Envoy for Women and Children Kim Simplis-Barrow said that gender equality is a goal to be worked toward by all – and it starts with things as simple as encouraging girls to try so-called non-traditional roles and eliminating harmful behaviors.
The rally continues all day with other speakers and entertainment.
