By BBN Staff: On Monday morning around at around 10:30 a.m., a 17-year-old female student reported to Belize City Police that an hour earlier while she walked on Princess Margaret Drive, a dark-skinned man robbed her of a gold chain valued at $500.
The teen told officers that she was directly across the street from Edward P. York High School when she felt someone tugging on her gold chain from behind but she was able to hold onto it, preventing it from being taken off her neck.
She then turned around to see who was attempting to rob her and saw a man she described as tall and slim, wearing a rag to cover his head on a blue beach cruiser bicycle. Her aggressor then threatened to kill her if she didn’t hand over the chain and fearing for her life, she complied with his demand.
He then made good his escape on his bicycle. Police investigations into the matter continues.
