By Aaron Humes: Users can now apply for licenses and permits online through a new system introduced today.
The platform is maintained by the Government’s Central Information Technology Office (CITO), supported by the International Cooperation and Development Fund (ICDF) of the Republic of China (Taiwan).
Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, Forestry and Sustainable Development Gaspar Vega says that the new system is intended to streamline the processes, not only in the Forestry and fisheries departments but other related departments. It helps Government and its clients track the process and reduce costs and frustration.
The new system introduced also marks a major step in implementing e-governance within the public sector. Expansion is intended for other departments in the coming months.
