By Aaron Humes: It turns out there is one thing both major political parties can agree on – that the late Right Honorable George Cadle Price was and is a great man.
Thus, Leader of the opposition John Briceño and Mayor Darrell Bradley, along with members of the Price family, unveiled a commemorative bust of the Father of the Nation this morning on the highway also named after him.
Briceño expressed his hopes that young people will be told of the legacy of Price and his vision for Belize.
Francis Usher recalled Price’s efforts to internationalize the Guatemalan claim.
Mayor Bradley recounted Price’s humility and determination to guide Belize to the promised land, and said that in honoring him we encourage the living to emulate him.
Stephen Okeke sculpted the bust at a cost of $25,000, funded by Holy Redeemer Credit Union. I.E. architecture firm donated for free the base on which the bust rests.
