By BBN Staff: Belize City Police are investigating two separate murders that happened yesterday on Gibnut and Prince Streets where Troy Triston Cole and Johan Justin Cocom were killed respectively.
Cole, 26, was riding his bike on Gibnut Street after 9:00 Wednesday morning, when a gunman approached him and a struggle ensued. Cole was shot multiple times to the body.
He ran into the Belize Integral Health Center, just up the street from where he was shot but was turned away by clinic staff. He was later transferred to the KHMH where he died at 10:52 a.m.
Eastern Division South Commander, ACP Chester Williams has called out the clinic for refusing to treat Cole. The clinic has also received some public backlash, especially on social media.
In the second incident Cocom, 21, rode his bike on Prince Street around 6:30 p.m., when someone fired shots at him from a parked vehicle. He was hit multiple times and died at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday.
