By Aaron Humes: Twenty-nine year old Kristoff Riverol, a former employee of Fultec Systems, located on Coney Drive, who posted a hard drive he stole in the “buy and sell” column on Face Book, was spared a custodial sentence when he appeared today before Magistrate Carlon Mendoza and pled guilty to 2 counts of theft.
Because he had no previous conviction for crimes of dishonesty and he had saved the court time by pleading guilty, Riverol was fined $1,000 for each count and he was given until September 30 to pay.
If he defaults on payment he will serve 1 year. Riverol had only been working at Fultec Systems as a sales support representative for about 3 weeks when he stole the terabyte external hard drives.
Mrs. Bjana Bradley, the Human Resources Manager at Fultec, reported that she received certain information from her employer, owner and general manager Diana Fuller that an employee had posted one of their products on Face Book page.
Mrs. Bradley said that when she viewed the security camera she saw Riverol taking the hard drives from the counter. One of the hard drives was recovered from Riverol and the other was recovered from a woman he had sold it to.
