By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Today, the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security and Enterprise hosted a workshop on Native Stingless Bees-Meliponiculture.
It is being held at Yo Creek Agriculture Station.
The workshop is being conducted by Wilberto Ucan Colli of Quintana Roo, Mexico.
At the end of the course the participants will be able to identify the characteristics and needs when starting to cultivate these bees; a clear historical part of the activity, the installation of the apiary, multiplication, care and division of the colonies and a summary of sustainable production and marketing.
