By Breaking Belize News Staff: Today, the Corozal Town Council and the Police moved swiftly to address an incident that occurred this morning.
A mother made a plea on social media with the picture of a pickup truck notifying the public that her daughter was returning from classes when the driver of said vehicle approached her and tried to persuade her to get into the vehicle.
The young lady refused and the vehicle was following her.
Shortly after, the Corozal Municipal Transport Department responded and tracked down the vehicle.
They escorted the driver to the Corozal Police Station.
The matter will now be addressed by Police Authorities.
“Council officials will continue to remain vigilant in our community.
The Council also applauds the involvement of the community in raising awareness, and calls on community members to report any illicit or suspicious activities to the authorities,” a statement from the Corozal Town Council said.
