By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: “Higher energy consumption in San Pedro and higher ambient temperatures this morning have been causing overloading of our mobile substation at Maskall, which supplies the interconnection to San Pedro,” BEL said.
BEL is asking customers in San Pedro to immediately reduce energy consumption to lower the loading on the mobile substation transformer.
“If the overloading persists, BEL will have to carry out emergency load shedding of certain areas of San Pedro to protect the mobile substation from damage.
We are asking Customers to adjust temperature levels of your A/Cs and refrigerators, take off lights, unplug unused chargers, and generally reduce usage of all electric and electronic devices as much as possible,” BEL added.
BEL says that the customers’ support can make a difference in helping maintain stable and reliable power supply to all Customers in San Pedro.
