By Breaking Belize News Staff: The family of Owen Tucker, who left behind his 86-year-old mother and children in the USA, expressed relief at the guilty verdict handed down this morning by Justice Derick Sylvester. Jerome Chester Crawford, 42, Chief of Security for Crocland, was found guilty of murdering his boss, Owen Tucker Sr., 66, on November 22, 2022.
Tucker was shot in the head by Crawford on his property. Crawford then forced an employee, Ruben Cox, to help clean up and dispose of the body, threatening Cox into silence. Tucker’s charred remains were discovered six days later.
Justice Sylvester’s 35-page ruling confirmed Crawford’s guilt. Sentencing is scheduled for June 17, 2024, pending additional reports and statements. The Tucker family feels that justice has been served for the senseless murder of Owen Tucker.
