Villanova University praises Josiah Moseley for performance in Belize win over Brazil at FIBA U18 AmeriCup

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Following Belize’s stunning 106-102 win over Brazil at the FIBA U18 AmeriCup on Monday, Villanova University had words of praise for freshman Josiah Moseley who had a superb performance.

“What a start for our guy Josiah Moseley in the #U18AmeriCup!,” Villanova Basketball said in a social media post.

“Finished with 31 Pts (9/11 FG), 8 Reb, and 4 Ast in Belize 106-102 win over Brazil.”

Moseley, who recently signed for the Villanova Wildcats, was Belize top scorer in a game which has the basketball world talking. Belize is ranked 122 in the world of basketball, far behind Brazil who are ranked third in the Americas and 11^th in the world.

Moseley is the latest addition to the Belize U18 National Team that finished third in the Centrobasket Championship in 2023 in the tournament held in Belize City behind Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic.

Villanova, traditionally one of the strongest teams in the National Collegiate Athletic Conference (NCAA) Division I in the United States, competes in the Big East Conference. The Wildcats, currently ranked sixth, won the NCAA Division championship for the 2021-2022 season.
