19-year-old boy on remand for ‘unlawful sex’ with 14-year-old girl

By Breaking Belize News Staff: A 19-year-old boy, Gian Teck, is on remand at the Belize Central Prison after being charged with two counts of unlawful sexual intercourse for allegedly having sex with a 14-year-old girl twice.

Teck appeared in court unrepresented on Wednesday during his arraignment. No plea was taken from him as the matter is an indictable offense and the lower court could not offer him bail. He was remanded to prison until August, when he is due back in court.

According to allegations, Teck and the minor has sex twice in May. The girl and her mother made a police report this week, leading to Teck’s arrest.
