By Horace Palacio: Early morning joggers and walkers who frequent the Victor Galvez Stadium in San Ignacio Town were met with an unexpected surprise today as the gates were locked and chained, preventing entry. This sudden change disrupted the routines of many who rely on the stadium for their daily exercise.
Ironically, while the main gates were securely locked, the back entrance remained wide open, raising questions about the reasoning behind the closure.
The stadium has long been a popular destination for those seeking a safe and accessible place for morning walks and jogs. The abrupt closure has sparked frustration among regular users, who are now seeking alternative locations for their exercise routines.
In response to the unexpected closure, a recommendation has been put forth to adjust the stadium’s operating hours, closing at 10:00 PM and reopening at 4:00 AM. This would allow both evening and early morning users to access the facilities without disruption.
Authorities are urged to address this issue promptly and provide clarity on the reasons for the sudden closure, while also considering the proposed changes to the stadium’s operating hours to accommodate the needs of the community.
