#GiveBlood and Save Lives on World Blood Donor Day

Director for Hospital Services and Allied health Dr. Jorge Polanco who is a strong advocate for the donation of blood shared his personally experience and called for persons to become volunteer blood donors.

The blood you donate can save a life.

“As we commemorate this day, we emphasize the urgent and ongoing need for regular voluntary blood donors. We are dedicated to promoting a culture of regular voluntary blood donation among both the youth and the wider public,” the Ministry of Health and Wellness noted.

World Blood Donor Day raises awareness of the need for safe blood and blood products and to thank voluntary, unpaid blood donors for their life-saving gifts of blood.
