By Aaron Humes: According to police, a Belize City man believed to be linked to a gang was the victim of a drive-by shooting on Saturday night.
Initial investigations by police revealed that around 10:24 p.m. one Aron Usher, 40, was socializing with several other persons under an open shed at the corner of King Street and East Collet Canal when a dark blue SUV came from the direction of King Street. Someone from within the vehicle fired several shots in the direction of the persons socializing.
Usher was shot several times to the body. The SUV headed in the direction of West Collet Canal toward Gibnut Street. Aron Usher was later transported to Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital for treatment where he was listed in a stable condition.
A police investigation continues.
