By Breaking Belize News Staff: Recently, the PUP opened applications for candidates wishing to contest positions for Standard Bearers.

However, following the application process, several applications were rejected.

But, in Corozal Bay, a different story emerges with daughter of Prime Minister John Briceño’s CEO, Narda Garcia, being given an opportunity to contest against Area Representative Elvia Vega Samos.

Thea Garcia Ramirez launched her campaign and the Bay has since taken sides on who they want to represent them.

Both candidates are campaigning on social media hoping to become the PUP’s next standard bearer for Corozal Bay.

Residents of Corozal Bay will decide on Sunday July 14 at the St. Francis Xavier Roman Catholic Primary School, with a polling station also opened at Mary Hill Roman Catholic School.

Polls will open at 9 a.m. and close at 4 p.m.
