Early morning shooting claims life of Belize City man

By Horace Palacio: A 50-year-old man identified as Dion Bowden was shot and killed early this morning in Pitts Alley, Belize City. Police were alerted to the incident around 1:45 am and found Bowden lying on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds.

The victim was pronounced dead at 4:15 am at Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital. Initial investigations suggest that Bowden was walking on Pitts Alley when an unidentified gunman approached from New Road and fired several shots at him.

The scene was processed by Scenes of Crime personnel, and four expended casings and one slug were recovered. No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.
