Copa América 2024: Peru, Chile play to scoreless draw

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: No matter how much they tried, neither Peru nor Chile could open the score and after regulation time the score stood at 0-0 at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas on the second day of the CONMEBOL América 2024.

Chile’s next game in Group A will be against Argentina on Tuesday, June 25, at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Meanwhile, Peru will face Canada on Tuesday as well at Children’s Mercy Park in Kansas City, Kansas.

In the other Group A game on Thursday, Argentina blanked Canada 2-0 at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia. Julián Álvarez and Lautaro Martínez scored second half goals to give the defending champions the victory.

Copa América 2024 continues on Saturday with Group B games. Ecuador tackle Venezuela at 3:00 pm (4:00 pm Belize Time) at Levi Stadium in Santa Clara, California while Mexico take on Jamaica at 8:00 pm (7:00 pm Belize Time) at the NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas.

On Sunday, the United States play Bolivia at 5:00 pm (4:00 pm Belize Time) at the AT&T Stadium while Uruguay battle Panama at 9:00 pm (7:00 pm Belize Time) at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Florida.

The 48th edition of Copa América features ten teams from the South American Confederation (CONMEBOL) and six invited teams from CONCACAF. The sixteen have been divided into four groups of four.
