By Aaron Humes: Today, June 23, has been designated by the United Nations as Public Service Day.
Government of Belize social media pages have been paying tribute, such as the Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Technology which wrote: “Your dedication and hard work are the driving forces behind the progress and development of our nation. Thank you for your unwavering commitment to education, cultural preservation, and scientific and technological innovation. Your efforts are shaping a brighter future for all Belizeans.”
On Friday night in San Pedro Town, 108 public officers were recognized in an official ceremony with long service awards.
The event celebrated the tireless efforts of these individuals under the theme, “The Belize Public Service: Honouring Our Everyday Heroes. Public Servants, Empowering Communities, Enriching Lives.”
These awardees, each having served at least 25 years, have shown unwavering commitment to their roles, empowering communities and enriching lives across Belize. Their contributions are a testament to the strength and resilience of the Belize Public Service.
Last week Wednesday, various agencies of the Public Service also hosted a nationwide information day.
