By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Brazil is going through an unusual drought in international football and that was clearly visible on Monday night at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California in the CONMEBOL Copa América 2024 as they were unable to get the ball into the back of the next against Costa Rica despite 19 drives, of which only three were on target.
Costa Rica defended well and continuously frustrated the Brazilians, so much so that coach Dorival Junior even sent in promising star Endrick in for proven star Vinicius. That move, which angered many Brazilians, did prove fruitful.
At the long whistle the match remained 0-0.
In the other Group D game, Colombia edged Paraguay 2-1.
On Friday, June 28, Brazil will next face Paraguay at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas while Costa Rica will take on Colombia at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.
